A national scholarship platform: public website, student portal and the automation that keeps 50,000+ applications moving
The Challenge
Imagine America Foundation awards scholarships to career education students across the country, working with over 1,200 partner schools. Their programs run on volume: tens of thousands of applications a year moving between students, high school counselors, college administrators and the foundation's own team. They needed a strong public web presence and a full platform behind it to actually run the scholarship programs, without drowning their staff in manual work.
What We Built
The project has two parts. The public-facing site is built with Astro and paired with a custom CMS that feeds the blog, the schools directory and a set of SEO-focused pages, and we handle the ongoing SEO work that helps the foundation rank for the searches that matter most to their mission.
Behind it sits a full .NET and Angular scholarship portal. Students apply for scholarships and track their applications. College administrators and high school counselors each get their own accounts to review submissions, make recommendations, approve or deny applications and download certificates. Foundation admins control the schools, campuses and programs that power the whole system.
Under the hood, automation moves applications through the review process, sends email updates and reminders at the right time, and keeps data in sync with partner companies. Over 500,000 automated emails have gone out to date.
