Software Project Rescue
Your Software Project Is Stuck. We Get It Shipped.
Maybe the freelancer stopped answering. Maybe the agency delivered something that almost works and moved on. Maybe the project just grew until progress quietly stopped. However it got stuck, you have already paid for software you cannot use, and the way out is not starting over. We take over stalled and unfinished software projects, audit what exists, and finish the job with a fixed quote and no drama.
- Takeover of codebases from other developers, agencies and vanished freelancers
- A code audit that tells you honestly what you have and what it needs
- Fixed quote before any work starts, no open-ended hourly billing
- The unfinished features on your list actually built and shipped
- Documentation and handoff so you are never locked in to anyone again
Every Stuck Project Has a Story. We Have Heard Them All.
Projects rarely die in a dramatic moment. They stall: a freelancer takes another job, an agency hands off something 80 percent done, the one developer who understood the system leaves, or the scope grows until every week adds bugs faster than features. None of it means the work was wasted. It means the project needs a team whose specialty is picking up where someone else stopped.
- The freelancer or agency that vanished mid-build
- The internal tool the person who built it no longer maintains
- The launch that keeps slipping one sprint at a time
- The app that works until real users show up
- The codebase nobody in the building understands anymore
How a Takeover Works
You do not need to explain the code, and you do not need to know why it broke. Get us access to the repo and hosting, tell us what the software was supposed to do, and we reconstruct the rest. Before you commit to anything you get a plain-language findings report: what exists, what works, what is missing and exactly what it costs to finish.
- Share the code and hosting access, or let us help you recover them
- We audit the architecture, security, database and unfinished work
- You get a findings report with an honest fix-or-rebuild recommendation
- Fixed quote and timeline, then we stabilize, finish and launch
- Ongoing maintenance available so it stays healthy after handoff
Software Project Rescue FAQs
Can you take over code written by another developer or agency?
Yes, this is the core of what we do. We start with a code audit to understand the architecture, what works, what is broken and what was never finished. From there you get an honest assessment and a fixed quote to complete it. We have taken over projects from solo freelancers, offshore teams and agencies that dissolved mid-build.
My developer disappeared and I am not sure I have the code. Can you help?
Usually yes. The code often exists in more places than people realize: the hosting environment, a GitHub or GitLab account, a staging server or an old handoff email. We help you track down what exists, secure your access to it and take stock of what you actually own before planning the takeover.
There is no documentation at all. Is that a problem?
It is normal. Most rescued projects arrive with no documentation, and the code itself is the documentation. Our audit reconstructs how the system works, and everything we deliver afterward is documented properly, so the next developer, even if it is not us, never starts from zero again.
Why do projects always seem to stall at 80 percent?
Because the last 20 percent is the hard part: authentication edge cases, error handling, payments, deployment, security and all the unglamorous work that makes software dependable. Demos reward the first 80 percent. Production requires the rest. That last stretch is where we specialize.
Is it cheaper to finish my project or start over?
We answer that with the audit rather than a sales pitch. If the foundation is solid, finishing is usually faster and significantly cheaper. If the code is genuinely beyond saving, we say so, explain why in plain language and quote a rebuild that reuses your existing design and logic as the blueprint, so the money you already spent still counts for something.
How much does a project takeover cost?
Every takeover starts with a code audit, and you get a fixed quote before any work begins. The cost depends on how far the project got and what remains. What you will not get is open-ended hourly billing on top of a project that already ran over budget once.
The app works, but it breaks as we get more users. Can you fix that?
Yes. Software that works for ten users and falls over at a thousand is a stuck project too, just a later chapter of one. We diagnose the bottlenecks, fix the queries, architecture or infrastructure causing them, and set up monitoring so you see problems coming instead of hearing about them from customers.
Part of the project was built with AI tools. Does that change anything?
Only in ways we are ready for. A large share of our rescues now involve code from Claude Code, Lovable, Cursor or similar tools, and we know the specific failure patterns each one produces. The process is the same: audit, honest triage, fixed quote, then finish the job.
Will you sign an NDA, and who owns the code afterward?
Yes to the NDA, happily, and you own everything: the code, the hosting, the documentation and every account involved. We set things up so you are never locked in again, to us or anyone else.
Stuck Project? Send It Over.
Tell us what was being built and where it stalled. We will audit what exists and come back with exactly what it takes to get it shipped. You will hear back within 48 hours.
